Novastar LED Display Calibration: 5 Steps When You're Out of Time

This one sounds obvious, but you'd be amazed how often it's mishandled. Camera-based calibration requires consistent lighting on the screen. If you're calibrating an outdoor Novastar LED display, wait for cloud cover or do it at dusk. Indoors, turn off any lights that hit the screen directly.

After calibration, run a full-white pattern, a grayscale ramp, and a color gradient. Look at them from the actual viewing distance — not from two feet away. Calibration that looks pixel-perfect close up can look wrong from twenty feet. And in a rental or digital signage scenario, the audience is never two feet away.
If you're doing bulk digital signage rental — multiple screens going to different venues — this matters even more. You're shipping these displays to locations where nobody from your company will be present. The only person who sees the screen before the event opens is the venue's overworked AV tech. Make sure it looks right from the ballroom floor, not from a ladder.
What I've Learned the Hard Way
I made a rookie mistake in my first year that still makes me cringe.
